Mr. Edward “Eddie” Wood, 60, of Valley, AL. passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Wood is survived by his wife, Joan Wood; four children, Randy (Anna) Wood of Atlanta, GA., Keith (Audrey) Wood of Chicago, IL., Ben Irvin of San Diego, CA., and Alex Irvin of San Diego, CA.; seven grandchildren, Emily, Wyatt, Samuel, Grayson, Addison, Braden, and Elizabeth; three sisters, Peggy Joyce Morrow of Lanett, AL., Nell Ford of Sylvester, GA., and Tammy (Greg) Johnson of Lanett, AL.; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wood was born on December 6, 1953 in West Point, GA. to the late Bobby and Gracie Wood. He was of the Christian faith. He had retired from Duracell after 27 years of service, where he was known as “Doc” and could fix most anything. He loved his grandkids and riding motorcycles. He enjoyed shooting and collecting guns. He was an avid University of Alabama football fan. He never met a stranger. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He always put the needs of others first.
