Edward William Mucha, 79, of Clarksburg passed away Tuesday August 23, 2011 with family by his side Heartland Nursing Home. He was born in Nemacolin Pennsylvania, on November 4, 1931, a son of the late Sam and Katharine Mucha. On November 4, 1955, Edward married Betty Harbert Mucha, who preceded him in death on April 7, 1987. He is survived by three children. Stephanie Kopp and husband Paul of North View, Shelby Cain and husband Roger “Mudd” of Clarksburg , Mike Mucha and wife Darlene of Quite Dell. He is also survived by his sister Helen and husband Charles Hufford of Clarksburg and a special friend, Jack Gray of North View, who is “family”. In addition to his children and sister, Edward is survived by 6 grandchildren, Heather Wolfe and husband Todd of Stealey, Sydney Mucha of Quite Dell, Taylor and Morgan Cain of Clarksburg, Marcy VanHemel of Virginia, Johnny Folio of North Carolina; 2 great grandchildren, Langston and Delaney Wolfe of Stealey; sister in-laws Frances Williams and Bonnie Sheets ; nieces Debbie Rolyston and husband Darrell, Brenda Myers and husband Bud, Marla Sprouse, Kathy Lucente and husband Tony, and nephew, Nick Ours. In additions to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Bronnick; father and mother in-law Lory Lemual “Dick” and Jesse Mae Harbert; sister in-laws Avanell Ours, Nadine Harbert, and Beverly Harbert. He was also preceded in death by close a friend, Arnett Roy, who Ed considered like a father. Ed graduated from Victory High School in 1950. After he graduated, he went on to serve his country in the Navy during 1950 to 1955. Ed was employed by Anchor Hocking where he retired in 1987. Those who knew and loved him will always remember his colorful stories. He enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, gardening, and time working on family and friend’s farm. He very much enjoyed his weekly trips to the Elkins Race track and watching NASCAR. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Donna Shaw, caregiver and friend, and the staff at Heartland Nursing Home for the special care and support given to Ed and his family during their time of need. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
