Edward Tuholski, 79, of Galien, Michigan died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at his daughter’s home in Chesterton, Indiana after a brief illness. Ed was born January 14, 1933 in LaPorte County, Indiana to Roman and Edith (Keehn) Tuholski.
He attended school in Galena. Ed served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Silver Star. On October 10, 1970 he married the former Mary Head in Michigan City, Indiana. He was a truck driver for the South Bend Freight Line. He was also a blacksmith, farmer, butcher, and jack of all trades. Ed was a member of the American Legion Post 297 of New Carlisle and the VFW Post 9423 of Rolling Prairie.
He was a member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church and the Gleaner Association. Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing, sharing his homemade turtle soup and vegetable soup, attending church, playing cards and visiting with friends. Ed loved time with his family and was known for having suckers for the kids. Ed is survived by his children, LeaAnn (Russ) Grant of Camas, Washington; Jeff (Robin) Anderson of Mill Creek, Indiana and Roxana (Dean) Campbell of Chesterton, Indiana; grandchildren, Paige, Shane, Abbey, Lauren (Michael), Lindsey, Kylie, Bryan, Ashley, Christian and Hannah; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Peyton and Chloe; sisters, Betty Parmley of Osceola, Indiana and Delores (Milton) Schroeder of Rolling Prairie, Indiana and his shepherd, Lady. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, daughter Kathi Philson, grandson Jordan Campbell and sister Joan Rabideau.
