Tim Carl, Sr., 78, of Elkhart, passed away at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart on Sunday, December 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. (Lynette) Carl and Christian (Nari) Carl; grandchildren Cass, Calvin, Smith, Emma and Clara Carl, his brothers Dick and Joe, and his little Yorkie Lulu.
Tim was the quintessential salesman. Charming and funny, he began his career as a used car salesman, and eventually became the Volkswagen Salesman of the Year for Indiana and Michigan in 1968. After selling cars, he moved into selling recreational vehicles and managing RV stores for multiple companies. When he retired, he worked for Central High School for two years as a teacher’s aide, working with students with autism.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was married to the love of his life, Lenora J. Carl for fifty-seven years, and he bragged about his children to anyone who would listen. He was sober for forty-one years and supported many others in achieving and maintaining their sobriety. He was an avid golfer and a Silver Master bridge player and beloved by all who knew him. He also served honorably in the US Air Force.
