Edward Obermeyer, 91, passed away May 20, 2016, in Emmett, Idaho. Ed was born to John and Florence Obermeyer in Emmett on May 3, 1925. He married Marion Wilhelm on February 20, 1947. Raised on a fruit ranch, he spent his entire life in the agricultural field dairying, raising crops and two exceptional children, Gordon and Janet.
Educated in Emmett Schools, Ed served as high school student body president and was very active in FFA, receiving a number of high awards. He served on various boards, including Enterprise Ditch Company, Lake Reservoir Company, and Gem County Fire Protection District #1.
Ed was preceded in death by an infant daughter, an infant great-granddaughter, his parents, and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marion; son, Gordon (Cindy) Obermeyer; daughter, Janet (Mike) Fisher; sister-in-law, Lois Medford, 6 nephews, 1 niece, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
