Son of the late Joseph and Hanna (Mahoney) Coleman and Brother to the Late Morris (Mo) Coleman, Eileen (Coleman) Gallagher, Annmarie (Rea) (Coleman) Staropoli, Ed is survived by his Brother John Coleman, three sons Edward R Coleman, Michael J Coleman and Mark S Coleman. Ed was blessed with six Grandchildren, two Great Grandchildren three Daughter in-laws, many brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Ed served in the Military (Army Branch) from 1953 to 1955 with the 1824 Radio Operator Company 17th Signal Battalion where he earned the rank of Corporal and was stationed on a mountaintop in France.
Ed met and married his late wife Ann on February 16, 1958 and celebrated the birth of their first child in December of the same year and two more children thereafter. Ed and Ann were married for nearly 65 years and together created a wonderful life for all. Ed took on a career as a Union carpenter and ultimately became Owner Operator of his own Carpentry business AMC Carpentry. Several years later he took in his oldest son and together created E. Coleman Home Improvements in where Ed ultimately retired from. Ed’s passion for his work led him to a lifelong commitment of building renovating and improving the family summer home in White Lake NY where he spent every summer for the last 37 years. Ed’s passion for tinkering and building was extended to all his neighbors in the two communities he shared his time in, Beechwood Club in White Lake NY and Tropic Bay condo in Delray Beach FL. where he served as the building rep and always made himself available to his friends and neighbors to pitch in and help with any type of project.
Ed left an everlasting impression on whom ever he touched in his life, he was a wonderful Husband, Father, Uncle, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and friend. Ed will be missed by everyone and will live on in the hearts and memories of all that knew him.
