Salem: Edward R. Masters, Sr., age 84, of Salem, died at 11:56 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Salem Community Hospital. Mr. Masters was born April 10, 1928 in Rowlesburg, W. Va., the son of the late Walter and Myrtle Ann (Cramer) Masters. He was employed for 32 years as Senior Fitter for Columbia Gas Company retiring in l986. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Clair (Bolyard) Masters. They were married September 18, 1948. Other survivors include two sons, Edward R. (Norma) Masters, Jr., of Salem, Ohio, Richard E. Masters of North Carolina, two daughters, Evelyn Masters of Canton, Ohio and Lora Masters of Lisbon, Ohio, a sister, Betty McVay of Fredericksburg, Ohio, l0 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and l great great grandchild. Preceding him in death were a brother, Earl C. Masters and three sisters, Willavean Hartsell, Opal Burns and Arvella Holderbaum.
