Edward Orville Smith, age 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2022 surrounded by his family.
He was a kind, gentle man born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Sarah Smith, moving to Miami Beach at the age of 16 with his brother Sydney, Uncle Henry, and mother Sarah where he eventually met his wife Jeanne of 54 years.
His passions were his family, his many fruit trees, gardening, and feeding any stray animal that would wander into the yard. He was referred to by many as Saint Francis because he loved all animals. He was also known to frequently enjoy chocolate and desserts. As a younger man his interests included fishing, sailing, shrimping, surfing, bee keeping, photography, and “wine” making.
He had a career as a dental technician for over 40 years until retirement and then spent his remaining years traveling with his family and enjoying the yard (Ed’s Paradise) with his grandchildren and his most recent toy, his golf cart.
