Edward Neil May, age 76, of Woodridge Illinois, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Seasons Hospice/AccentCare in Naperville.
Ed was born December 17, 1945 in upstate New York and grew up near Syracuse. He attended Clarkson University in Potsdam New York where he graduated in 1968. He then attended graduate school in the Department of Physics at the University of Rochester where he obtained his Ph.D. in 1976. His graduate studies involved research on the Zero Gradient Synchrotron at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont Illinois.
His outside interests included jazz, science fiction, philosophy and the history of physics.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
