United States Navy Retired Electronics Technician First Class Edward “Eddie” Michael Filsinger passed on peacefully on January 18, 2019, at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center in Chula Vista, California, after a brief illness.

Eddie was born to Raymond and Joan (Durrant) Filsinger on November 12, 1951, in Buffalo, New York. He is predeceased by his mother and his sister, Linda DeFichy Lukatchik.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Aurora nee Abella of National City, CA; his children Eileen (Lee) Malalang of Las Vegas, NV and Rachel (David) Dysart of Chula Vista, CA, stepchildren Mildred nee Abella (Edward) Tupaz of National City, CA, Brenda nee Nicholson (Henry) Bautista of Portland, OR, Robert (Yara) Nicholson of Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by grandchildren Angeleen, Sean, Aria, Gavin, Chayse, Mark, Leslie, Zack, Dorothy, Henry Jr, Natalie, and Nathan. Eddie is also survived by his father Raymond K. (Deloris) Filsinger of Williamsville, NY and his siblings Pamela (Angelo) Revezzo of Hamburg, NY, Victoria (Alfred) Pires of Punta Gorda, FL and William (Azucena) of Boylston, MA. He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Eddie attended St. Josaphat School in Cheektowaga, New York and is a 1969 graduate of Bishop Ryan High School in Buffalo, New York. Eddie served his country for 22 years in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam and Desert Storm veteran. He retired in 1992 and later joined Elite Computers in Chula Vista, California as a computer technician. A true family man, Eddie enjoyed helping family and friends with technology and computers.

Over the years he enjoyed building model ships and aircraft. A no nonsense guy, Eddie could always be seen wearing his signature plaid shirt and flip flops and loved to cheer on his beloved Buffalo Bills. Eddie had a great sense of humor and could always make friends and family laugh with his sarcastic wit. A serious carnivore, Eddie also enjoyed washing down a good steak with a 7&7.
