Ed was Navy Quartermaster aboard the US Wasp and was present in the Cuban Missile Crisis. His career in television broadcast at The Ed Sullivan Theater, WWOR-TV and CBS made for great stories.
Ed and family resided in Staten Island, NY, Columbus, Ohio and Fairfield, CT before retiring in Wilmington, NC with his wife, Peg to be near his two daughters and their families. He took art classes, joined the Wilmington Hobby Train Club, was a member of the Wrightsville US Coast Guard Auxiliary and Cape Fear Mens Club. Ed was an avid sailor and an active member of the The Richmond County Yacht Club and Bridgeport Yacht Club. He was a gifted painter and artist and enjoyed gardening, swimming and being at the beach.
