Edward Lee Sadankas. Born in 1959 from the lineage of Sadaukas, Martin, Lee and Gray.
Son of Gilbert and Eveline Sadankas. Little brother to Mary. Big brother to Ruth and Claire. Bother in law to Cynthia and Ed. Friend to many. Loved by countless.
Ed was born and raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark,NJ, graduated from JFK School, lived in Union but preferred the beach life in OB1 riding his bike and visiting with friends.
You’re Ed’s sister? Oh you live in Ed’s house; that’s what his sister’s heard their whole life.
He preferred the warm weather and vacationing in the Florida Keys, Texas and Atlanta where his close friends live. His baseball preferences were sacrilegious to hardcore fans as he rooted for the Mets, Yankees and Red Sox depending on which of his cronies he was with or wanted to rib.
Ed aka Bones, the big skinny guy, nicodemus, my friend, Mr. Ed, the man, the myth, the legend.
Ed is the constant example of defying the odds, living the mantra of his gym family “You ain’t got nothin’ on me”. More times than we can count he continually rose like a phoenix above things most would not have survived.
He is the reminder of what it means to live, to accept love without question and how that way of living draws out the best in everyone who experiences it.
Ed left this life on July 25, 2021 on a gorgeous summer’s day from the porch of his beach house in OB1.
