Edward “Pete” Peterman, 70, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, Florida. He was born in 1946 in Abington, Pennsylvania to Edward Louis and Dormilee (Mann) Peterman. Pete grew up in Graham, North Carolina. He graduated from Graham High School in 1965. After high school, Pete joined the U.S. Navy in 1965 and served for 9 years.
He attended college at Memphis State University in Memphis, Tennessee where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology in 1977.
In 1979, Pete and his family moved to Rockledge, Florida where he began working in the space industry for RCA as a computer programmer. He was part of the space shuttle program working with the chase planes and tracking program. He worked 29 years in the field before retiring.
Pete married Patricia Phillips in 1970 in Baltimore, Maryland. They were happily married for 47 years. He enjoyed gardening, sailing, model trains and walking our dog Turner.
Pete was preceded in death by his father Edward Louis Peterman, mother Dormilee Mann Merritt, sisters Laura Jane Barrett and Linda Sue Feaster. Pete is survived by his spouse Patricia Peterman of Rockledge, Florida; his daughter Deborah (Christopher) Collinge of Orlando, Florida; his son Philip (Jillian) Peterman of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his brother Gerald (Janice) Peterman of Graham, North Carolina; sister Pamela Gail Boggs of Graham, North Carolina; his grandchildren Alex, Ashley, Mason and Taylor and his nephews Chris, Danny and Jeremy.
