Edward Lee “Ed” Tumey, 79, of Flemingsburg, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at his home.
Born August 22, 1938, in Fleming County, he was the son of the late Leonard and Gladys Hartley Tumey.
Ed was a retired custodian with Fleming County Board of Education. He had also worked for the Fleming County Road Department. He was a member of Ramey’s Chapel and had recently attended Flemingsburg First Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Sherlotta Tumey; and his parents.
Ed is survived by his son, James Robert Tumey of Flemingsburg; his son, Michael Edward Tumey of Williamsburg, Ohio; his daughter, Sherlotta Lee “Sherry” Darlington and husband Donnie of Dalesburg; his daughter, Tonya Sue Maher and husband Todd of Beechburg; and Loretta Lynn Tumey and Steve Seaver of Scottsdale, Arizona. Ed is also survived by 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
