Ed was born in East Grand Forks, MN on 9/12/1947, to the late George and Cecelia Kovar. He was united in marriage to Elaine (Lonnie) Emmerich on September 27, 1969. Ed was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all who knew him and a prior member of the Army National Guard in Fort Leonardwood, MO for 6 years.

Ed opened his business as a Master Electrician in August 1982 and ran a successful business for 40 years, Kovar Electric aka EK Electric LLC until his passing. Ed battled prostate cancer for 12 years. He loved dancing, hunting, playing Farkle & cards, vacations, horseshoes, his extensive family & playing in a band with his brother in his younger years. He was happily married for 52 years and taken much to soon.

Ed is survived by his wife Elaine (Lonnie) Kovar of Monument, CO, his sons Randy (Michelle) Kovar of Monument, CO & Jeremy (Tania) Kovar of Monument, CO. His grandchildren Jonathan (Casandra) Sheehan of Bloomington, MN, Brandon Holmseth of Ramsey, MN, Aryonna (Andrew) Bollin of Big Lake, MN, Nicholas Kovar of Monument, CO, Levi Hurst of Mankato MN, Sophie Kovar of Monument, CO, Austin Kovar of Monument, CO, Isabel Kovar of Monument, CO, Tristan Kovar of Monument, CO, and Grace Kovar of Monument, CO. His great grandchildren: Syari Sheehan of Bloomington, MN & Nikolai Sheehan of Bloomington, MN. 8 sisters and brothers and many extended relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Cecelia, one brother and one sister.
