Edward J. Volk, 87, of Peru died on Illinois Valley Community Hospital.
Mr. Volk was born on August 26, 1922 in LaSalle to Frank and Mary (Savnik) Volk. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He worked at the Sheridan Correctional Center for 35 years. He married Rose Morton on January 29, 1972. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, and the Slovenian Lodge in Joliet. He is survived by his wife Rose, one son David Volk of Peru, two grandchildren Carrie Prybylinski and Kevin Ciecielski, and 2 great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Austin Prybylinski.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Sally Witczak, one daughter Diane Ciecielski, two brothers, and two sisters.
