Edward J. Eckert, Sr., of Burlington, died Monday, October 29th, 2007 at Lourdes Hospital, Willingboro, at the age of 86. Mr. Eckert was born in Philadelphia and was a Burlington resident for 54 years. Mr. Eckert served in the U.S. Army during World War Two and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He worked as an Iron Worker for 35 years with Local #399, in Camden.
He enjoyed spending time with his family on Long Beach Island. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. Ed cherished his time spent with his loving wife, Gloria and especially loved time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Gloria (Giangiordano), and father to Edward, J. (Patty) Eckert, Jr., Gloria Eckert, Cindy (Steve) Geonnotti, Martin (Shirley) Eckert, Dorothy (Bill) Szypulski, David (Linda) Eckert and the late Eleanor (Wayne) Divis. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
