Edward J. Bennick, 72, of Salisbury Twp., passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2007, surrounded by his loving family in Westminster Village in Allentown. He was the husband of Eleanor (Pacona) Bennick for 50 years. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Stephen and Stephanie (Reitbauer) Bennick. He was employed by the City of Bethlehem as a Police Officer for 30 years, retiring as a Sergeant. He was a long standing member of the Fraternal Order of Police Star Lodge 20. He was also the former owner of Machs Gute where he enjoyed playing in it’s Dart League and Ed’s Corner Doggie Shop in Hellertown. An avid sports fan, he loved the Eagles, Phillies and 76ers. Before becoming ill, he was passionate about living life to its fullest. Survivors: he will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Ellie at home; daughters Carol A. and her husband Jeffrey of Northampton and Stacey A. Bennick and her fiancee Richard J. Perrotti of Fremont, NH; son Edward E. Bennick and his wife Carolyn of Bethlehem; sister Theresa Clements of Philip, SD. and brother Henry Bennick and his wife Hilda of Fountain Hill; grandchildren Ed Jr., Ryan, Jeffrey J., Jarrett J., Tracey, Allison and great-grandchildren Jayden Rose and Sage. He was also survived by nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Joseph, John, Stephen and sisters Margaret and Marianne.
