Edward H. Docke, 81, of Hazlet, passed away, Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Bayonne, before moving to Hazlet in 1959. He was employed with Pergament Home Center, Hazlet, as a store manager, for 15 years, until they closed in 1994; and then as a maintenance worker with Foodtown, Atlantic Highlands, for 15 years, retiring in 2006. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW #2179. He was a loving father and his great pleasure was his grandkids.
Edward is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret “Peggy” Beelitz Docke; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Nancy Docke of Hazlet; and a daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Robert Onyrscuk of Nanticoke, MD; a brother and sister-in-law, Lou and Louise Henson of PA; four grandchildren, Melanie and her husband, Greg; Kristy and her husband, Dan, Tomi Ann and her husband, Miguel; and Karl and his fiance, Nicole; and six great grandchildren, Ethan, Shaye, Kayley, Jovany, Tristin, Brandon and Briana.
