Mr. Edward Frazier Shockley, age 84, of the Lake Harding Community, Valley, Alabama passed away at his residence on Sunday, March 29, 2015.
He was born on March 9, 1931 in Chambers County, Alabama to the late Allen and Dera Shockley.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Starnes Shockley; daughter, Gwen (Milton) Shockley Newton, Valley; grandchildren, Patricia (Troy) Higdon, Valley, Jamie (Mandy) Newton, Valley; great-grandchildren, Jenna Johnson, Abby and Noah Higdon, Claiborne, Cadence, and Isaac Newton, all of Valley; sister, Carolyn Franhsen, Columbus, GA.
He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Lee Shockley; brothers, J.T. Shockley, Doye Shockley, Winford Shockley; sisters, Louise Dabbs, Tillie Knight, Betty Pigg.
Mr. Shockley was retired from the Chattahoochee Valley Railroad. He was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church and a very active and involved member of the annual Hopewell BBQ’s. He loved fishing, gardening, and Alabama football.
