Mr. Edward F. Moriarty, age 94, of Derby, beloved husband of the late Clara Bancroft Moriarty, passed away on October 6, 2006 in Griffin Hospital, Derby. Son of the late Lewis E. and Mary L. Moriarty, he was born on August 27, 1912 in New Haven, CT. He was a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a representative of Monarch Insurance Company for over 40 years, working with the business and medical communities in Milford and Naugatuck Valley. He was a long time board member of Racebrook Country Club, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled Veterans of America and communicant of Holy Infant. He was a well known local baseball player in the Industrial League in the 1930’s. Edward was an avid golfer with many area tournament victories. His last victory coming at age 82. Mr. Moriarty held rank of 1st Lieutenant in World War II  serving as chief of the Medical Administrative Corp for the African and Middle Eastern campaigns.
