Edward E. Swank, 74, of Jacksonville, Illinois, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born October 12, 1944, in Everson, Pennsylvania, the son of John and Mildred Clites Swank. He married Carol Grandfield on December 25, 1976, in Jacksonville, and she preceded him in death on December 6, 2011.
He is survived by five children, Tammy Swank of Kansas City, KS, Rose Swank of Jacksonville, Teri Swank of Jackson, GA, Kimberly (Timmy) Springer of Wood River, and Edward Swank II (significant other, Sarah Cady) of Peoria; eight grandchildren, Jasmine, Christopher, Brianna, Mackenzie, Daylan, Paisley, Addy, and Brently; five siblings, Dick Swank of Connellsville, PA, Gene Swank of Mt. Pleasant, PA, Frank Swank of WV, Sue Swank and Peggy Swank, both of Scottdale, PA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and four siblings, Boone Swank (surviving wife, Lou), Jabo Swank, Jessie Swank, and Jennie Swank.
He was a graduate of Scottdale High School and a veteran of the United States Navy. He loved fishing, playing pool, and spending time with his grandkids.
