Edward C. “Eddie” Saddig
Montville – Edward Charles Saddig, 47, passed away March 19, 2012 in Terra Haute, Indiana. After a long battle to bring him home he will now be able to rest in peace here in Connecticut with his father, near his family, many friends and the ocean where he was happiest.
Ed grew up and attended schools in Montville. He excelled in baseball and motorcross racing, always fitting in time for fishing.
Ed worked on the Cross sound Ferry, the Mobile Islander out of New Haven, Atlantic Tank Ships out of Virginia and at the Amerada Hess Corporation in Groton prior to moving to Terra Haute where he worked for Klemm Tank Lines.
Ed’s first love was the ocean where he loved to work, fish and play. Ed was loyal, fun loving, hardworking, caring son, brother, friend and dad who left us all too soon. He will forever be missed by all his family and many friends.
He is survived by his mother Sheila Saddig of Uncasville, sister Christine Cavan of Oakdale, nephews Richard Cavan of Atlanta, GA, and Steven Cavan of Oakdale, and son Gilbert Saddig of Terra Haute, IN as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Saddig.
