Edward Broesder, age 83, of Algona passed away on April 19, 2020 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Edward William Broesder, the son of William and Edna (Walker) Broesder, was born on October 14, 1936 in Union Township in Kossuth County. He graduated from Algona High School in 1955. On July 3, 1959 Ed was united in marriage with Elsie Jeanette Ryg in Algona. He was employed at Hormel in 1969 and worked there for 31 years until his retirement in 2000. Ed was a member of First United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge and volunteered at the Senior Center. He loved gardening, playing cards and attending auto races. Left to cherish Ed’s memory are his two sons, Brian (Amie) Broesder of Lee Summit, MO and Keith Broesder of Mason City; three grandchildren, Zoe Gerlach, Alec Broesder and Adelyn Broesder; brother, Lloyd Broesder of Algona and sister, Mary Andrews of Garner. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Elsie on March 26, 2020.
