Edward Bernard Blasco, of Cromwell, husband of the late Elizabeth “Lee” (Thorner) Blasco, passed away peacefully at the age of 102 in his home on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Clemens and Wilhelmina (Pawloski) Blasco. Ed lived in Cromwell since 1958.
As a young adventurer, Ed rode the rails and saw most of the country and learned about life while doing so. During World War II, he worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft making engines and war products. He was a member of the Washington Lodge #81 AF & AM in Cromwell for more than fifty years. Ed was an avid hunter, fisherman and musician and loved collecting antiques. In his 102 years of life, Ed’s knowledge and stories were endless.
Ed is survived by a son, David Blasco of Middletown; a daughter Nancy L. Maloney and her husband Barney of Arlington, VA; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Mike, Virginia, Daniel and Melissa; nine great grandchildren, Jared, Austin, Teddy, Annora, Michalis, Cameron, Shelby, Mallary and Sarkee.
Along with his wife and parents, Ed was predeceased by a great grandson, Koty, five sisters and a brother.
