Edward Bernard Bigenski, 93, of Lebanon, CT, a member of The Greatest Generation, joined the passing parade on Sunday, October 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born Sept. 3, 1923 in Manchester, he was the son of the late Catherine and Felix Bigenski. In his passing, Ed has reunited with his beloved wife of over 60 years, Gloria Belle (Petrofsky), who predeceased him on Feb. 22, 2012, and 2 sisters, Mary Snell and Josephine Kittle.
He grew up in Homestead Park and was a 1941 graduate of Manchester High and later Manchester State Technical School (renamed Howell Cheney Technical School.
During the later part of July 1944 the 3rd Army became operational under Gen. George Patton and the 150th was assigned to the 3rd Army. They served in 5 Campaigns – Normandy, N. France, Ardennes, (Battle of the Bulge), Central Europe, and Rhineland.
Ed retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft from Manufacturing Engineering after 33 years. Mr. Bigenski had been a very active member of the Lebanon community and a very social person. Some of his involvements: Lebanon Town Treasurer, many year member of The Lebanon Board of Education, active in the Democratic Town Committee, a communicant of St.
