Edward Allen Wagner passed away 20 April 2023 and was greeted in heaven by his beloved daughter, Christie Paige Wagner. Ed was born 27 October 1943 and raised in Eugene, Oregon by Lloyd and Ester Wagner with siblings, Judy Wagner of Alameda, CA and Richard McCormick of Colorado Springs, CO. Ed’s early life was shaped by his father’s service in the United States Air Force, which moved the family often, to locations all over the US and as far away as Guatemala.
Ed graduated from Oregon State University as an Electrical Engineer at the dawn of the semiconductor industry and discovered a lifelong passion for understanding the “why” and the “how” of scientific processes. Ed’s gift for translating highly-complex material theories into successful manufacturing techniques made him invaluable to companies such as National Semiconductor and Intel Corporation.
Ed was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Hartman Wagner (2022) and their daughter, Paige (1992).
His only son, Glen Wagner and wife, Alla live in Castle Pines, CO. Ed will be sorely missed by his granddaughter, Rachel Marie Wagner of Roseville, CA. Ed lived with his current wife, Kathryn Yergler Lyons on the Rincon Ranch in Fence Lake, NM and in the family home in Albuquerque. Ed was dearly loved by his step-daughter, Kathryn Lyons Norris of Colorado Springs, CO and step-son, Douglas Whitcomb Lyons and family of Pflugerville, TX.
Ed had a great love of the outdoors and spent many long hours with a fishing pole in his hand. A lifelong athlete, he was a scratch golfer, a scuba diver, an expert skier, and racquetball player. He frequently sought out the thrill of adventure in the wilderness of the Rincon Ranch. Ed recently renewed his faith as a member of Hoffmantown Church.
