Edrie Lavern Pinon, 74 of Vandalia, was taken from this world at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Edrie was born December 10, 1939 in Loami, Illinois, daughter of Harold “Toad” Nichols and Grace (Jacobs) Nichols.
She is survived by her 6 children: Dona Goodin and husband Dave of Shobonier, John Bednar and girlfriend Tammy Branham of Thayer, Illinois, Angi Gerding and husband Eric of Springfield, Illinois, David Bednar and spouse Steven Wykle of Davenport, Iowa, Cyndi Leathers of Greenville, Kentucky, Loralyn Valencia and husband Anthony of Shobonier; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and four nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Juatana “Tana” Purdy, and a sister: Cheryl James.Edrie worked for the boys club of Springfield, Illinois for many years.
She retired from Holiday Inn World Wide as an Executive House Keeper in 2000. Edrie will be remembered as a giver putting others needs before her own. She never knew a stranger. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
