Edna Olive Brown, 93, of India, a resident of Taft since 1979, passed away April 12, 2015 peacefully surrounded by her family. Edna was born March 13th 1922 in Kanpur, India. She graduated Hartcourt Butler Senior Secondary School 1941 and received a Bachelor’s of Education Degree from the Sindh College and also received her teaching credentials in 1944. She was married to William Reginald Brown on December 22, 1944. They were married for 56 years. Her husband William Reginald Brown preceded Edna in death. Edna worked as a teacher in multiple schools in India and Pakistan. She then went on to own a school, Brown’s Jack and Jill School, in Abu Dhabi UAE (United Arab Emirates). In 1979 she moved with her family to Taft, CA. She co-owned and operated Brown & Sons Automotive with her husband and two sons. Although accomplishing many things in her life she said her greatest accomplishment was her study of the Bible and in 1963 being baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in India. She went on be a teacher of the Bible in many countries, which was the most fulfilling work of her life. Edna is survived by her three children, Reginald William Brown, Pamela Dunlap (Brown) and Ronald Brown; and her 8 grandchildren, Rajeep Brown, Oniha Hegstead (Brown), Hollie Dunlap, Rahab Brown, Selina Hespe (Brown), Shawn Brown, Jona Brown and Joel Brown; and also by her 7 great grandchildren, Tylin Brown, Caliana Brown, RielyAnn Brown, Angelica Brown, Jonah Brown, Trinity Hespe and Justice Hespe.
