Edna Mary Glass, age 78, of Emmitsburg, died peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2010 in her sleep at the Golden Living Center in Westminster, Maryland, following a battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Born June 25, 1932 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Bessie (McCadden) Smith. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, David M. “Casey” Glass.
Edna was formerly from Gettysburg, PA and later moved to Emmitsburg, MD in 1951. She worked in several local shoe factories in the 1950’s. Edna was a member of Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church, joining in 1956. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Darlene Martofel and Marlene Glass both of New Oxford, PA; granddaughters, Topaz Martofel and Jennifer Collins; great-granddaughters, Cameryn Darlene Martofel and Ava Rose Collins; sister, Betty Hall of Gibsonville, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, George, Glen, Harry, and John Smith, and by sisters, Ruth Sparks, Grace Swope, and Delores Martz.
