Edna Lucille Chaffin McCoy of Meridian, Idaho, age 98, died peacefully on May 19, 2015. She was born at Woodville, Idaho on March 20, 1917, the second of the five children of Edwin Rice and Sarah Jane Jones Chaffin.
Edna married Stanley Eugene McCoy on July 12, 1933 in Grangeville, Idaho. There were 6 children born of this union; 3 boys and 3 girls. There were 26 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and 44 great great grandchildren. Edna worked at the Albertson store in Emmett for 22 years as lead cashier and union steward. She retired in 1982 and has enjoyed her golden years.
She is survived by 4 children, Barbara McCoy Hollingshead (Richard) of Sonora, California; Michael (Deanna) of Litchfield Park, Arizona; David (Patricia) of Bolivar, Missouri; and Marthe McCoy Carey (Jack) of Caldwell, Idaho. Other survivors include 2 sisters, one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law: Darlene Chaffin Law of West Jordan, Utah and Geraldine Chaffin Coleman (Loyd) of Melba, Idaho, Erwin Rohleder of Boise, Idaho and Jimi McCoy Gee of Springfield, Oregon and numerous neices and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; a daughter, Patricia McCoy Rohleder; a son, Daniel; 4 grandchildren; her brother, Evan Chaffin; and her sister, Glenna Chaffin Hansen.
