Passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 14, 2017 at Park Village Pines Assisted Living after a lengthy battle with COPD. She was born on January 15, 1935 in Hammond, IN, a daughter of the late Harry and Bessie (Kikkert) Ross. Edna was one of seven children and a graduate of Cassopolis High School. On June 20, 1962, she married the love of her life, James H. Craft who preceded her in death in May 2003.
Edna took great pride in maintaining a meticulous home and ensuring that the needs of her family were always met. This included family gatherings with bountiful meals on a regular basis, especially each and every holiday. She will always be remembered for her fabulous potato salad and peach pie. Edna and Jim also provided a loving start for 63 foster babies from Catholic Family Services and several “daycare kids”, a couple of whom still kept in touch with her.
Surviving are her four children: Nanette (Shelly) Sperry of Scotts, Donna (Garry) Sanderson of Portage, Tim (Cindy) Craft of Florida and Connie (Bryan) Tomlinson of Portage; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Kay Anderson of Indiana and Frances McCoy of Texas; one brother, Roy (Sandra) Ross of Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were two sisters: Stella Johnson and Margaret Henn; brother: William Ross and an infant son.
