Edna Wooten,89, went to her heavenly home late Thursday evening, January 26, 2023, at the Signature Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was born on December 1, 1933, in Muncie the daughter of Plennis Sylvester and Clara Opal Pauline (Green) Davis.
Edna was a 1951 graduate of Harrison Township School and Indiana Beauty College. She had married Don Wooten in the early 1950s and he preceded her in death in 2007. Mrs. Wooten had been self-employed as a Beautician who owned and operated Edna’s Beauty Hut for approximately 35 years. She was a member of the Victory Temple where she taught Sunday school. Edna was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues most recently the Christian Fellowship Bowling League. Mrs.
Survivors include one son, Terry Wooten (Millie), Muncie; daughter-in-law, Paula Wooten, Muncie; six grandchildren, Joshua Wooten, Desi (Patrick) Adair, Tara (Chelcy) Wooten, Kyle (Ashley) Brumback, LeAnn Barton, and Karl Tracy; sixteen great-grandchildren, Tarin, Austin, Pacey, Foster, Hadley, Dylan, Breanniah, Da’Leigha, Cory, Bailey, Mackenzy, Katlyn, Karly, Kennedy, Kallie, and Krimsyn; one sister, Elnora “JoAnn” Allen, Muncie and one brother, Vadis Davis (Doris), Muncie; her best friend, Debbie Wooten, Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband of over 50 years, Don, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Larry Wooten; one grandson, James Tracy and three brothers, Arlo, Gene, and Junior.
