Edna L. Carnahan, 80, of New Buffalo, Michigan, died Monday morning, May 9, 2005, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Edna was born September 24, 1924 to Harold and Frieda (Gehne) Kruger, at the family’s home in New Buffalo, located next door to her current home.

She enjoyed working in her flower beds, gardening, processing food for her family, watching the birds at her feeders, and playing pinochle with her sisters. Edna was an avid sports fan, watching football, basketball and baseball on T.V.Survivors include her husband Raymond Carnahan, who she married in August of 1975; her children, Melanie Yasko of New Buffalo; Dentin (Linda) Lowe of New Buffalo; step children, Julie Krycka of New Buffalo; Cathleen Dunhum of LaPorte, Indiana and Dale Carnahan of New Buffalo; grandchildren, Gael, Dustin, Tony, Janel, David, Mikey, Angelina, Matthew, Destiny and Ryan; great grandchildren, Christine and Marcus and her sisters, Helen Deutscher of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, Esther Maerz of LaPorte, Indiana and Bette Frankepolz of Knox, Indiana.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth Lowe, and daughter, Gael Lowe, as the result of an automobile accident in 1959.

Also preceding her in death were her second husband Chester Mankowski, stepson, Michael Carnahan, and her sister, Hannah.
