Edna Brooks Jackson passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Brighton Gardens Senior Living, Dunwoody. Mrs. Jackson was born at Red Hill Farm near Haralson, GA on September 9, 1925. She is the daughter of the late Elbert Arthur Brooks and Elizabeth Smith Brooks of Grantville.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pharmacist Harry Lee Jackson of Grantville. She was active for many years in the family business, Jackson Drug Co., Grantville, from the late 1940s until the mid- 1980s. She was also preceded in death by her first husband James Rainwater, Sergeant, U.S. Seventh Army, of Hogansville, who died in combat in France in 1944, and her oldest son James Patman Rainwater (Mildred Justice Rainwater, deceased) of Newnan.

She is survived by her son Harry Bruce Jackson (Ruth Byers Jackson, deceased) of Brookhaven, GA; her son Walter Lane Jackson (Delia Vining Jackson) of Newnan; and her daughter Jane Jackson Barringer (Robert Barringer, deceased) of Dunwoody. She is also survived by grandchildren Kevin Rainwater of Newnan; Kelly Rainwater Iverson of Grantville; Melissa Rainwater Toney of Whitesburg; Thomas Byers Jackson of Brookhaven, GA; Brooke Jackson Crocker of Thomasville, GA; Matthew Jackson of Newnan; Petty Officer Second Class Jackson Barringer of the USS Normandy and Norfolk, VA; Debra Barringer Mills of Atlanta; Lisa Barringer Dodge of St Petersburg, FL; Kristie Barringer Young of Chamblee, GA; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jackson lived most of her life in Grantville and most recently in Newnan and Dunwoody. She was the last to survive of 11 siblings. She was a member of Grantville Methodist Church for most of her life and most recently of Cornerstone Methodist Church, Newnan.
