Edmund J. Strange, 81, of LaSalle passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at IVCH in Peru.
Mr. Strange was born on January 13, 1932 in LaSalle to George and Mary (Battaglia) Strange. He married Kimi Marie Toyoda on June 10, 1955 in Tokyo, Japan.
He served in the United States Air Force as a staff SGT. serving in the Korean War. He worked as a custodian for LaSalle National Bank. He graduated from Brown’s Business School.
He was a member of St. Hyacinth’s Church in LaSalle, former member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in LaSalle, lifetime member of LaSalle VFW, lifetime member of LaSalle Knights of Columbus, previous Exalted Ruler of the LaSalle Elks Club, and was previous member of the Princeton Elks Club.
He is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Allen) Stone of LaSalle and Marie Sonnon of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren, Shannan (Sonnon) Connelly, Jenning Sonnon, Bryon Stone, and Kyle Stone; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl (Mary) Strange of LaSalle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kimi Strange on August 19, 2009. Pallbearers will be Jenning Sonnon, Bryon Stone, Kyle Stone, Justin Connelly, Allen Stone, and Tim Strange.
