Edmund “Ed” Damien Padilla, 54 died peacefully at home on May 8, 2022. A lifetime Puebloan he was born May 24,1967 to proud parents, Victor and Rosanna (Suazo) Padilla.
He was preceded in death by; his grandparents, Gorgonio & Sinforosa (Medina) Suazo and Ubaldo & Natividad “Tiva” (Esquibel) Padilla; brother-in-law Jeff Teschner; uncles, Eligio Suazo, Candido Suazo, Ruben Suazo, Frank Padilla, Arthur “Tudy” Padilla, Louie Muniz and Aunt Della (Suazo) Jasso. He is survived by parents; Victor and Rosanna Padilla; daughter, Sara Padilla; granddaughter, Desi Tobin of Sarasota, Florida; sisters, Monica (Rick) Roth, Yvette Teschner; brother, Derrick Padilla (Celeste Mares) all of Pueblo, Colorado; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ed always enjoyed the outdoors from a very young age as Boy Scout and chose to work as a contractor doing construction, landscaping and numerous remodeling jobs.
Ed graduated in 1985 from East high and moved on to Adams State College where he became involved at Adams State in numerous activities, played football, worked at Walmart until he graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics and Marketing. He returned back home and worked for Keebler as an area Rep for several years. Friends called him the “cookie man.”
When Ed was not working, he spent time fishing, boating, camping and sharing time with family and friends. He loved to tease his nieces and nephews and had “nick names” for them as well as for friends. He was always ready to give horsie back rides to all the little ones. He enjoyed playing his guitar especially with dad singing “La Entrega” de los novios at weddings for family and friends. He was truly a “Gentle Giant” with a kind soul. He will be missed by family and so many friends.
