Edith Rohde George, “Boots”, died peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2012, just 4 days after celebrating her 96th birthday. She was born September 3, 1916, in Glen Burnie to the late William and Nellie Rohde.
When her beloved husband, John C George, Jr., died suddenly in 1960, she returned to the work force in the accounting office of Anne Arundel County where she retired after 25+ years. She dealt with the loss of her hearing in a courageous manner. She was a loving, supportive mother to her 2 children throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Evelyn Norkus and Clara Disney, and sister-in-law Marie Getz. She is survived by her daughter, Jill Fleisher and husband Les of Pinehurst, NC, and her son, John C George, III and wife Margaret of Glen Burnie, and 2 grandsons, Michael George and Kevin George and wife Kristin.
