Missionary Edith Mae Williams Currie was born on June 2, 1943 to the late Thomas Bill Williams, Cordie Siddle Watlington Williams and Arvister Willis Williams in Caswell County, North Carolina. She transitioned to Heaven on May 17, 2020, at Alamance Regional Hospital.

Edith was born in Caswell County, North Carolina and graduated from Caswell County Training School in Yanceyville, North Carolina. She earned her Early Childhood diploma from Alamance Community College. She worked for Burlington Industries, LifeSpan, and Amtech. But her true love was the service that she did for her church at Friends Family Worship Center. She was the Church Mother, a Deaconess, a Missionary, an usher, and a Children’s Church teacher which was her favorite service to the church. She kept a strong faith in the Lord Jesus even in the toughest times, including the times of her challenging health issues. Through it all, she always presented a good attitude and cared about her family and others.

She was preceded in death by her Sisters: Annette Williams Williamson and Isabella Watlington Thomas and bothers James Watlington and Robert Watlington

Edith married Leo Hubert Currie on June 30, 1967 in Caswell County, North Carolina.
