Edith “Beeb” Mae (Johns) Jackson, age 84, of the Bear Clan and Red Lake, Minnesota went home on Monday, November 13, 2017 from the Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN. She was born in Red Lake, MN on September 27, 1933 to Thomas and Fannie (Anderson) Johns.
Edith enjoyed spending time with her family, relatives and good friends. She liked her family time and picnics at Como Zoo in Minneapolis. Over the years, when traveling back and forth from up north to Minneapolis, she would always stop along the way to have a picnic with her kids. Edith enjoyed ricing, picking blueberries, fishing, and setting net. She loved to play bingo and going to rummage sales. Edith cherished going to church with her kids and grandkids and traveling with her church groups and friends. She traveled to New York with Wisdom Steps of Minneapolis to see where Kateri Tekawitha lived and to Phoenix, AZ with Father Jim to see the Pope. Edith was crowned the Red Lake Princess in 1951. Throughout her life she held various jobs, she worked for Old Dutch, had various housekeeping jobs at hotels, volunteered at UMAIC and lastly worked as a factory worker at Honeywell. In 1954, Edith married the love of her life, David Jackson, Sr. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Family that she joins again are husband; David Jackson, Sr., children; Shirley Jackson Rock, Darrell and Salina Jackson, parents; Thomas and Fannie Johns, brothers; Roman, Charles, Leonard Johns and Kenneth Jones, sister; Sylvia “June” Brun, and grandchildren; Theresa, Edie and D.J. Jackson, Sr.
Those she leaves behind are her children; Faron (Laurel) Jackson, Sr., Charles “Chuck” Jackson, David Jackson, Jr., Keith Johns and Sharon (Derek) Jackson, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
