Edith May (Sheets) Wolford, age 92, of Rowlesburg, WV, passed away Friday, September 7, 2012, at Grafton City Hospital. She was born October 9, 1919, in Wendel, WV, a daughter of the late George Wayman Sheets and Bessie Elizabeth (Austin) Sheets. Her husband, Hess Wolford, preceded her in death in 1979. Mrs. Wolford was a mother and a homemaker. She made many beautiful quilts, and also enjoyed reading, having had a lifelong love of learning. She was a Methodist by faith. Surviving are: four sons, Conley Wolford, of Kingwood, Michael Wolford and wife Rose, of Morgantown, Kermit “Butch” Wolford and wife Peggy, of Rowlesburg, and Randall Wolford and wife Sherry, of Rowlesburg; three daughters, Mary Anne Nice, of Rowlesburg, Janet Masters and husband Chip , of Rowlesburg, and Loretta “Sally” Stone and husband Kenny, of Thornton; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; one sister, Lena Sheets, of Grafton; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by: two infant children William and Carolyn; two sons, Walter and James; one daughter Barbara; three brothers, Johnny, James, and Albert; and two sisters, Thelma and Helen.
