Edith M. Lisenbee, 88, of Meredosia, died Monday, December 5, 2011, at the home of her niece and nephew, Helen and Clifford VanHyning in Meredosia.
She was born June 16, 1923, in Jackson, MO, the daughter of Edward and Mary Goforth Chambers. She married Warren L. Lisenbee on Sept. 14, 1943, in Mt. Sterling and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1996.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Rachel Flesner, Beatrice Jaquesh and Dorothy Cooper; three brothers, John “Bert” Chambers, Loren Edward Chambers and William Chambers; and half-brother Ralph Chambers and half-sister Viola Prindle. Mrs. Lisenbee worked at Service Rubber in Rock Island for 10 years. She had attended Chambersburg Christian Church. Edith loved animals, especially her dogs, and also enjoyed dog-sitting for many of her friends.
