DUBLIN- Edith Doll, 90, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday January 12th, 2010 at the Waters of Muncie. She had been failing health for several years.
Edith was born in Rush County, Indiana on July 6, 1919 to the late Clem and Celia (Hunt) Chance. During much of her youth she lived with her foster mother, Lora Ankrom of Dublin. On August 10, 1940, she married Eugene Doll, who preceded her in death on July 19, 1999. Together they raised four daughters, and worked at their grocery store, Doll’s Market in Dublin.
A lifelong resident of this area, Edith was a 1937 graduate of Knightstown High School and attended Earlham College. She was an active member of her community where she served on the Dublin Library Board, and was largely responsible for cataloging the book collection at the library.
