Muncie – Edith L. Smith, 87, passed away Thursday, October 03, 2013, at Castleton Health Care in Indianapolis following an extended illness.
Edith was born in Russellville, Alabama on June 1, 1926, the daughter of Newton and Bertha (Clemmons) Duboise, and was a graduate of Russellville High School. She attended College in Florence, Alabama.
Mrs. Smith worked for over thirteen years in the Drapery Department at Sears in Muncie.
Survivors include a son, Byron Smith, (wife-Kathy), Indianapolis; a brother, Reverend Elmer E. Smith, Russellville, Alabama; a sister, Ethel Williams, (husband-Doyle), Haleyville, Alabama; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Norman U. Smith; and a sister Hattie Maddox.
