Edith Jane Campbell, 92, died peacefully on October 3, 2015, at her home in Tallahassee, with best friend and caregiver Shirley Reed by her side.

Born September 16, 1923, in Youngstown, OH, to George and Edith Windle, Jane married Francis M. Campbell (“Bud”) in 1942. Within weeks, Bud was inducted into the Army Air Corps and Jane followed him to many cities while he did basic training. They corresponded weekly throughout WWII and following his safe return were not separated until his death. Jane and Bud moved to St. Petersburg, FL, in 1964, where she was a licensed practical nurse at Majestic Towers in Pasadena and an active member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Gulfport. Following Bud’s death in 1996, Jane moved to Tallahassee to be near her daughters.

While in Tallahassee, she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Beloved mom, grandmother, and friend, Jane was known for her generous and kind spirit. Jane laughed, loved, and lived well. She is survived by daughters Mary Kay Campbell and Maureen Proctor; son Michael Campbell; and granddaughters Kristin Pole, Haley Kole, and Siena Kole.
