Edgar Philip Larew, 85, of Scotch Hill Road passed away July 23, 2015. He was born in Grafton, WV, April 20, 1930, son of the late Edgar Posten and Alice May Hershman Larew. He graduated from Newburg High School, attended Potomac State College and then entered the United States Air Force where he served for almost 22 years. As a Master Sergeant in the Strategic Air Command he had many tours abroad including Morocco, Vietnam, Thailand, Guam, Korea as well as time he spent on various bases in the United States. Following retirement from the military he worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Bridgeport, WV, and he served as a County Commissioner representing the Lyon District of Preston County. He attended the Bethel Church located on Scotch Hill Road. He was a Past Commander and a charter member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 24, a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the Knights of Pythias, the Glenn Hathaway #107 Oddfellow Lodge and the Elks. Philip enjoyed picnics, watching football, reading and Oreo cookies. He will be missed by his wife of 62 years, Eutha Rebecca (Haynes) Larew as well as his children and their spouses: Robert and Sherry Larew, Dorothy and Brian King, Ginger Larew and her spouse, Joseph Morasco. His grandchildren Jonathan King, Robin Seley and her spouse, Josh, and Brent King as well as his great granddaughter, Amelia Seley, will also miss him.
