Ebbin “Raney” Southerland, 83 of Belton. He was born March 29, 1927 in Cedar Creek to William Barton Southerland Jr. and Opal Lillian Carberry Southerland. He married Anna Mae Jacobs on December 17, 1949. He attended Temple Junior College and Texas A&M. He also served in the Army during WWII. Mr. Southerland was a merchant that lived and worked within the central US before settling down for retirement in Belton.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 133. Mr. Southerland was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Charles Barton Southerland and a son-in-law Larry James Berringer. Survivors included his wife Anna Mae Southerland of Belton, Son Ebbin Raney Southerland , Jr. and wife Ona Lee of Driftwood, Daughter Lu Anna Su Berringer of Huntsville and son Richard Lynn Southerland and wife Jan Marie of Spicewood.
Nine grandchildren Aaron Southerland and wife Sherry of Driftwood, Aris Tamayo and husband Jago of Kyle, Austin Southerland of Austin, Holly Southerland of Spicewood, Jeffery Berringer of Huntsville, Kerry Berringer of Conroe, Paul Berringer of Huntville, Darryl Southerland on Onalaska, and Shawna Duncan and husband Chris of Lufkin. Brother Donald Barton Southerland and wife Edna of Temple, nephews Donald Barton Southerland, Jr. and wife Ellie of Dallas, Gary Brian Southerland and wife Sue Ann of Temple, Alan Blaine Southerland of Gatesville. Great Grandchildren. Marcus Southerland, Penelope Southerland, Kori Tamayo, Rhylee Tamayo, Gabriel Tamayo, Brian Hunter, Jr, Brianna Hunter, Connor Duncan, Jonathan Berringer, Tayler Berringer and Sienna Berringer.
