Earnest Lee Cantrell Earnest Lee Cantrell, age 86, passed away at Scott & White Hospital December 3rd.
Earnest was born July 19, 1926, in Temple, Tx to Clyde Raymond Cantrell and Annie Dove Fletcher. He grew up on the Scott & White Dairy Farm and attended Temple High School. He served in the Army during WWII in the South Pacific on Saipan. He returned from the service and joined the Temple Dr. Pepper distributor, where he won numerous awards for top sales and was promoted to route supervisor.
He was with Dr. Pepper for 23 years and Cloud Construction for 16 years where he worked with the construction crane team. In retirement, Earnest was very active. He enjoyed traveling with the Heart of Texas Square Dance group, Good Sam Camping Club, VFW, and American Legion. He was an active grandfather and church member. He participated in several volunteer organizations.
His favorite was Helping Hands of Belton Food Bank. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Helping Hands Ministry of Belton. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Doris Cantrell, daughter Cathy and Jack Mueller of Archer City, TX, son Sammy and Susie Cantrell of Nashville, TN, three granddaughters Amanda Lane of Houston, Danielle Fontenot of Pampa, Tx, Skyler Mueller of Amarillo, two great grandchildren, Darlin’ and McCallahan Fontenot of Pampa, Tx. One brother John and Brooksie Cantrell of Rio Vista and numerous nieces and nephews.
