Earlene Metcalf Phillips was born in Hillsboro, Alabama on August 16, 1949. She was the only child to George Benjamin Metcalf and Ollie Mae Haley Metcalf, who preceded her in death along with her brother, Frank Franklin Jr.  She departed this life on earth July 12, 2014 at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Decatur General Campus.

Earlene confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Alabama were she was a dedicated member for years until she joined Victory Christian Center in Trinity, Alabama   She later received a call from God into the ministry of teaching under the leadership of Bishop Carter and Trudy Videau. Earlene loved her church and teaching children about Jesus.

Earlene was a proud graduate of Tennessee Valley High School, Class of 1968. She married her loving and devoted husband Kenneth Ray Phillips on February 7th, 1970.

Earlene leaves to cherish her memory:  a husband of 44 years Kenneth Ray Phillips of Hillsboro, Alabama; two children, Tim Phillips (Angela) of Huntsville, Alabama,  Benetta Phillips White of Decatur, Alabama; nine grandchildren; Sean L. Pride (Sheritha), Dante’ T Pride, and Carlos L Cole, all of Huntsville, Alabama, Vershawn O. Cosby and Kenneth T. Phillips both from Winter Haven, Florida, Blakely Jackson (Whitney), Blair A. White, Brooke L. White, and Brandon J. Williams all of Decatur, Alabama; four great grandchildren, Bentley Jackson and Penelope Jackson both from Decatur, Alabama, Xavian Pride and Sanaai Pride both from Huntsville, AL; step-Mother,  Reveal Metcalf of Decatur, Alabama; mother-in-Law, Maggie Cooper of Detroit, Michigan; two sisters, Renay Metcalf and Reveal Thatch (Marvin) both of Decatur, Alabama;  one brother, the Reverend Patrick Franklin (Delores) of Decatur, Alabama; and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
