Earlean “Early” Mason Bailey was born on November 4, 1927 in Courtland, AL, to Paul and Hattie Taylor Mason. The Lord called her home on January 21, 2016 while convalescing at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation in Madison, Alabama.
At an early age, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and savior and joined Mt. Zion MB Church, also known as “Little Sam” in Town Creek, AL. “Early” spent a great deal of her adulthood in Brooklyn, New York. She was known as an avid cook and loved for everyone to brag on her food. She also took pride in coming from a “classy family” which is why you always saw her decked out in her decadent beads, bracelets, and earrings. Her favorite color was red. In the late 70s, “Early” returned back home to Alabama.
“Early” was preceded in death by: her parents and her siblings: Lewis Mason, Beatrice Mason Robinson, Paul Mason, and Eddie Walker, Jr.
Earlean leaves to cherish her memory: children, a devoted and loving son, Eligah (Sharon) Bailey, Jr. , Harvest, AL, Roseanna Bailey, James Bailey, and Rosetta Cook, all of Brooklyn, NY. A devoted great niece: Demetrice “Punkin” (Gilbert) Mitchell , Huntsville, AL and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
